Race Equality Guide

In May 2003 the Department, in partnership with the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland launched Racial Equality in Health – A Good Practice Guide.

Dialogue with Ethnic Minority Groups suggests that people from black and minority ethnic backgrounds had experienced significant barriers when attempting to access services within the HPSS. The aim of this guide is to provide practical advice for all those HPSS staff whose role it is to design or deliver services and to assist them in anticipating and overcoming such barriers.

The Department worked with the Equality Commission to produce "A short guide to good practice in service provision" (PDF 136KB) in March 2011.
