Welcome to the HSC Pension Service

The HSC Pension Service administers the HSC Pension Scheme.
Membership of the Scheme is open to:
  • HSC employees
  • HSC medical, dental, ophthalmic practitioners and assistants
  • GP practice staff and some employees of certain approved organisations
  • Some locums and Out of Hours providers’ staff
This site contains information for members, former and retired members as well as employers and medical advisors.
There are two Sections to the Scheme, the 1995 section and the 2008 Section.
Viewing the 'Joining Flowchart' (PDF 198KB) will help identify which section of the Scheme a new member or returning member belongs.


Latest News and Information
The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety is currently consulting on changes to employee contributions to the HSC Pension Scheme. The consultation exercise will run until 21 January 2012.

HSC Pension Scheme - Pension Increase
HSC pensions are fully index-linked to protect them against inflation.  This means that the pension is increased each year in line with the cost of living for as long as it is paid.  This indexation is commonly known as Pensions Increase (PI).
PI is paid in April, based on the consumer price index (CPI).  The PI for 2011/12 is currently 3.1%.  Please refer to the link below for further information:
