Acting Chief Dental Officer
Welcome to the pages of the Acting Chief Dental Officer, Mr Donncha
O'Carolan.
Donncha O'Carolan advises the Minister and the Department on all aspects
of dental policy affecting Northern Ireland. He oversees three main areas :
Dental Policy, which aims to promote and improve the oral health of
the population.
Dental Referral Service which is responsible for the after treatment
monitoring of General Dental Services. Patients are examined throughout Northern Ireland to ensure
an adequate standard of treatment and to verify that their claim is genuine.
The Dental Services Group monitors delivery of dental services at the
three prisons sites in Northern Ireland.
