Support Services (Cleaning, Catering, Laundry & Car Parking)
In 2004 Health Estates acquired policy responsibility for Support Services
from the Secondary Care Directorate of the Department. With the merger of Health Estates with the Department
this responsibility passed to the Infrastructure Investment Directorate of the Department.
The Department's remit is taking forward the development, implementation
and monitoring of an integrated Department strategy for support services, initially focusing on environmental
cleanliness, carparking, laundry and catering services.
Operational
or technical support to the HPSS in catering and laundry is provided by the Business Support Organisation
(BSO).
