Device Evaluation
Device Evaluation Reports enable users and purchasers to be properly
informed about safety, performance and user experience covering a wide range of medical devices. They
include pathology tests and equipment, infusion pumps, neonatal incubators, patient monitors and recorders,
defibrillators, anesthetic workstations and diagnostic imaging equipment.
There are two main types of Device Evaluation Reports:
Single Device Reports:
Usually in-depth, technical and helpful for purchasing or maintenance purposes. These reports are issued by NIAIC to HPSS Liaison Officers.

Multi-Device/Comparative Reports:
Provide comparative information about a range of device, and helpful for selection purposes. Multi-device reviews contain brief device summaries, comparing performance and price, and provide an overview to the market and the technology. NIAIC hold a library of these publications that are available to the HPSS for loan.

safety, performance and user experience of disability equipment. They cover 8 categories of equipment
