HPSS Superannuation Scheme
Applying to Join the HPSS Superannuation Scheme as a GP Locum Medical Practitioner
One-off or Regular Monthly Applications
In order to pension your GP locum work you need to apply to Central Services Agency (CSA) on forms GP Locum A and B in respect of normal GP practice work and on forms GP Locum C and D for when you are deputising for an OOHs GP and enclose a cheque for your pension contributions. Remember to include the employer contributions in respect of OOHs work on forms GP Locum C and D.
Applications must be made to CSA within 10 weeks of the end of any period of locum work. However, if GP locum work is continuous for more than 1 month, regular monthly applications must be made.
Applications to Increase Scheme Benefits
If you also want to apply to increase your benefits from the Scheme, read the 'Increasing Your Benefits' Guide and then contact CSA. You should always consider taking independent financial advice. The 'Increasing your Benefits' Guide can be found under 'HPSS Superannuation Publications'.
Transfer of Previous Pension Rights
If you want to transfer pension rights from a different provider to the HPSS Superannuation Scheme, read about 'Transferring Benefits' contained within the 'Scheme Guide' and contact CSA. You should consider taking independent financial advice before making a decision. The 'Scheme Guide' can be found under 'HPSS Superannuation Scheme Publications'.
