This page of the website provides former members with information
and forms, on topics such as Rejoining the Scheme, Applying for my Preserved Benefits and Early Payment
of Preserved Benefit.
There are now two Sections to the HSC Pension Scheme:
Rejoining the Scheme
The 1995 Scheme closed to new members with effect from 1 April 2008.
However there are some circumstances in which a Former Member who has Preserved Benefits can rejoin
the 1995 Section.
Please view the 'Joining Flowchart' to determine which section of the
scheme you will belong to should you rejoin the HSC Pension Scheme.
You
will not be eligable to rejoin the 1995 Section if you:
- Were over age 70 on 31 March 2008
- Received a Refund of Contributions from your last period of
pensionable employment and these have not been repaid.
- Return after 1 April 2008 and repay a refund
- Left the Scheme on or after 1 April 2008 and transferred your
benefits out of the Scheme.
- Are a Special Class Member and over age 65.
Change of Address
You must write to HSC Pension Service if you change your address. This
is important because we will need to contact you when your Preserved Benefits become payable.
Claiming your Preserved Benefits
At Retirement age you will need to complete the Preserved Benefit application
form to claim your HSC Scheme Retirement Benefits, Form AW6P should be completed and forwarded to HSC
Pension Service 3 Months before the start date for payment of benefits.
Early
Payment of Preserved Benefits
1995 Section Members Only
Some former members with Preserved Benefits may be eligible to
apply for their benefits early (a reduction will apply) before normal benefit age 60.
Please refer to the Decision Tree below to see if you are eligable to
apply for Early Payment of Preserved Benefits.
