Standards Development Task Group

Developing Care Standards for Regulated Services

The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, Northern Ireland has established a Standards Development Task Group, (SDTG) to develop minimum standards for services that will be registered or inspected under the terms of the Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (NI) Order 2003. This development is part of the framework being put in place to raise the quality of health and social care services provided to the community throughout Northern Ireland. The framework will include the creation of the Health and Personal Social Services Regulation and Improvement Authority (The Regulation and Improvement Authority) that will replace the four existing Health and Social Service Boards' Registration and Inspection Units.
