Allied Health Professions
Nuala Mc Ardle is the Department's Officer for the
Allied Health Professions in Northern Ireland.Her remit includes:
- developing effective relationships with policy leads across
the Department to inform policy development ensuring that the best advice about the practice of allied
health professionals is available
- developing effective team working to inform and develop strategies for the
delivery of allied health professional services
- developing capacity and practice, inform the improvement agenda and provide
the best possible advice to support the delivery of local, integrated, high quality patient-centered
services
- contributing to initiatives to improve access and reduce waiting times
- contributing to building workforce capacity
- promoting service and role redesign to allied health professional practitioners
to increase capacity and add value to service delivery
- providing Ministers with the highest quality of support and information
- establishing close collaborative working with other policy areas across the
Department
- leading the work in partnership with Skills for Health to develop a competency framework for AHPs.
