Adoption
Country Fact Sheets
The Department for Education and Skills in London has compiled a number
of fact sheets
outlining basic information on adopting from
certain countries.
Intercountry adoption procedures are broadly similar throughout the
UK but there are some regional variations. The following fact sheets outline the procedures in Northern
Ireland for the most popular countries Northern Ireland residents have recently adopted from. However,
you are not restricted to adopting from any of these countries. If you are interested in adopting from
another country, you may find the DfES website helpful. Alternatively, there are a number of voluntary
organisations which may be able to provide advice.
