The Health and Social Care (Reform) Bill has its First Reading in the Assembly

The Health and Social Care (Reform) Bill has its Second Reading in the Assembly. The proposals were approved in principle by the Assembly and will now move to Committee Stage. The Minister also outlined his proposals in more detail and this is contained in the announcement below.

Health and Social Care jobs remain located throughout Northern Ireland
Health Minister Michael McGimpsey has today outlined the locations of the four new Health and Social Care (HSC) organisations.
The decisions fulfil the Minister's commitment to implementing the reforms to ensure a significant local presence of HSC jobs regardless of their headquarter function. They also maximise the use of current HSC accommodation.

Minister announces names and identities of new organisations
Health Minister Michael McGimpsey has today confirmed the names by which the new organisations within Health and Social Care (HSC) will be known.
The Minister also launched their new corporate logos. The organisations will be known as the following:
- Health and Social Care Board;
- Public Health Agency;
- Business Services Organisation; and
- Patient and Client Council.
