New adult safeguarding partnership arrangements are being put in place in Northern Ireland under guidance issued by DHSSPS in March 2010 following a process of targeted consultation.
A regional body, the Northern Ireland Adult Safeguarding Partnership (NIASP) and five Local Adult Safeguarding Partnerships (LASPs) will be established by the end of 2010. The NIASP and LASPs have inter-sectoral, inter-agency and multi-disciplinary representation. The HSC Board, working with the five HSC Trusts, are leading on implementation of the new arrangements.
