NI Interim Influenza Pandemic Plan - Contingency Plan
A National Framework for responding to an influenza pandemic has been
produced by the Cabinet Office and the Department of Health in London. This can be downloaded from the

In Northern Ireland, DHSSPS has produced an interim regional plan which
dovetails with the UK plan. A revised version of this plan was issued for comment on Wednesday 12 March
2008. The comments period has now closed and responses are being considered. It is hoped to issue the
revised plan later this year.
The Northern Ireland Interim Contingency Plan for Health Response for
an Influenza Pandemic contains information for all HSC organisations involved in preparing for and responding
to an influenza pandemic.
It aims to provide a coherent approach with each organisation knowing
its role in relation to others and identifying the actions to be taken at each phase of the pandemic
as defined by WHO.
