Children's Day Care Provision

Information is collected annually relating to the number of facilities and places in the following day care facilities - day nurseries, childminders, playgroups, out of school clubs, holiday schemes and family centres.

At 31 March 2007 there were 274 day nurseries in Northern Ireland providing a total of 10,671 registered places.  There were 3,441 registered childminders providing 16,908 places, 547 playgroups providing 13,015 places and 266 out of school clubs providing 6,320 places.
