Secure Accommodation

There is one secure accommodation unit in Northern Ireland, providing accommodation for up to a maximum of 15 young people at any one time. This unit is located in Ulster Community & Hospitals Trust and admissions are available on a regional basis.  Information is collected annually in relation to the gender and age of children admitted and discharged from secure accommodation and the length of time spent in the unit.
During 2006/2007 there were 53 admissions and 41 discharges to and from secure accommodation in Northern Ireland.

Children in Hospital

Information is collected annually in relation to children who have been in hospital continuously for periods of more than 3 months. The gender and age of the child is recorded along with the type of social work support or service they receive.
In 2006/2007 there were 53 children admitted to hospital for 3 months or more in Northern Ireland.

Immunisations

Information is collected annually by Health Board on the percentage uptake rates of children immunised before their second birthday.
In 2006/07, 97.7% of children were immunised against Diptheria, Tetanus and Polio before their second birthday.
