Northern Ireland Waiting Times information Service
Following the achievement of the waiting time targets for 2006/07, the Minister is committed to reducing waiting times for assessment and treatment further over the coming year. New targets have been set to ensure that, by March 2008, no patient will be waiting more than 13 weeks for a first outpatient appointment and no more than 21 weeks for inpatient or daycase treatment.
As part of the continuing drive to reduce waiting times the Minister has also announced that waiting times in Emergency Care Departments should be reduced. From April 2007, no patient should wait longer than 12 hours in A&E and, by March 2008, 95%of patients who attend A&E should either be discharged, admitted within four hours of their arrival in the department or transferred.
These pages contain the latest hospital and A&E waiting times in Northern Ireland. They show the number of patients waiting in each Trust and the length of time they have been waiting for treatment. These figures have not yet been validated. The validated figures will continue to be published quarterly and will also be available on the DHSSPS website at:
